LSU NCBRT/ACE Training Prepares New Orleans Responders for Super Bowl LIX
February 07, 2025
As the City of New Orleans prepares to welcome thousands of football fans to Super Bowl LIX on Sunday, the New Orleans Police Department and Caesars Superdome security staff will be equipped with LSU NCBRT/ACE training.
LSU NCBRT/ACE plays a vital role in preparing America’s responders to tackle complex threats and safeguard communities. Our mission is to develop and deliver specialized training that enhances skills necessary for preparing for, responding to, and recovering from high-consequence events. Through strong and ongoing partnerships within our own Louisiana community, LSU NCBRT/ACE is uniquely positioned to evaluate gaps and provide technical training to the city of New Orleans. With a whole community approach, LSU NCBRT/ACE ensures consistency in training and response across local agencies and institutions, helping the city better respond to potential threats.
In preparation for Super Bowl LIX and other major events, we partnered with the New Orleans Police Department, public safety and security staff of the Caesars Superdome, state and local stakeholders, and the NFL to identify essential training. Over 200 responders in New Orleans have already been trained in LSU NCBRT/ACE courses.
We work closely with state and local agencies to help implement long-term, customized training plans. Training managers and subject matter experts help identify specific needs, gather crucial information, and adapt courses to fit the unique requirements of each jurisdiction. This collaboration can be seen through NCBRT/ACE’s partnership with the NOPD, which adopted the DHS-certified Law Enforcement Active Shooter Emergency Response (LASER) course as its standard active shooter response training in 2024. This partnership ensures that all NOPD officers are trained annually by trainers who have completed LASER Train-the-Trainer. The public safety personnel at the Caesars Superdome have also adopted LASER, enhancing the uniformity among agencies for the Super Bowl or any future threat.
Looking ahead, LSU NCBRT/ACE aims to continue its involvement with the NFL in preparing future Super Bowl host cities, further solidifying its position as a leading training organization for public safety and security.
