LSU NCBRT/ACE Recognized as an Approved Training Provider by Maryland Police Training and Standards Commission
July 21, 2025
The Louisiana State University National Center for Biomedical Research and Training / Academy of Counter-Terrorist Education (LSU NCBRT/ACE) has been officially recognized as an approved training provider by the Maryland Police Training and Standards Commission (MPTSC).
MPTSC announced the partnership during its quarterly meeting on July 9th. During the meeting, the Commission reviewed and approved LSU NCBRT/ACE’s suite of courses, formally acknowledging the center's expertise and capacity to deliver high-quality, specialized training to law enforcement professionals across the state. Course approved trainings like Law Enforcement Active Shooter Emergency Response; Active Threat Integrated Response Course; Campus Emergencies: Prevention, Response and Recovery; Document Inspection for Law Enforcement; and more.
LSU NCBRT/ACE can now offer DHS/FEMA-certified training to Maryland police departments and related agencies. This partnership will strengthen relationships between LSU NCBRT/ACE and local agencies and will expand access to high-quality, vital training for responders across the state. Participants who successfully complete an LSU NCBRT/ACE course will receive in-service credit hours, further supporting their professional development and compliance with state training requirements.
Previously, hosting agencies were required to submit each course individually to MPTSC for approval and receive a unique P number. The new approval of LSU NCBRT/ACE’s courses streamlines the process for agencies, ensuring that responders can obtain necessary training in an efficient and timely manner.
