Today, more than ever, responders must recognize the link between professionalism and personal and public safety. De-Escalation Strategies and Professional Engagement provides effective tools to de-escalate encounters between responders and the public. In addition, the course teaches strategies to avoid escalation when possible. A single localized incident can threaten responder safety nationwide. De-escalation is a critical skill required of every responding professional.

Target Audience
The target audience for this course is responders who may be in a position to de-escalate a potentially volatile situation. This includes state, local, tribal, and territorial law enforcement officers, including frontline officers and frontline officers’ immediate supervisors, professional and volunteer Fire services responders and their immediate supervisors, and EMS personnel and their immediate supervisors.
