Technical Assistance for School Emergency Operations Planning

Overview

NCBRT is offering technical assistance (TA) to local education agencies (LEAs) and schools as they work to meet their annual emergency operations plans (EOP) review and update requirements. NCBRT’s team of nationally recognized subject matter experts (SMEs) is available to provide hands-on assistance to improve school emergency operations planning. Assistance is available for all LEAs and schools, from new schools that are developing an EOP for the first time to LEAs with seasoned crisis teams that are updating well-established district plans. Participating crisis teams are connected with a SME and receive an initial consultation on existing EOPs and planning practices. Following the initial consultation, NCBRT experts provide feedback regarding strengths and areas of improvement and connect crisis teams to training, digital tools, and established best practices to upgrade existing plans.

The technical assistance offered is highly personalized to the participating LEA or school in order to address the unique challenges faced at every stage in the planning process. Participating agencies will receive a written report after their initial consultation as well as continued guidance and technical assistance as they adopt changes and address gaps in their plans.
