LSU NCBRT/ACE Brings Active Threat Training to San Diego Padres’ Petco Park
At the end of January, subject matter experts and staff from LSU’s National Center for Biomedical Research and Training/Academy of Counter-Terrorist Education (NCBRT/ACE) travelled to California to deliver a number of its emergency response training to San Diego Padres security staff and other emergency responders.
LSU NCBRT/ACE Conducts Active Threat Table-Top Exercise for Morgan State University
On February 6-7, LSU NCBRT/ACE travelled to Morgan State University in Baltimore, MD, to conduct a table-top exercise for the university’s safety personnel, administrators, campus departments and president. This training is part of ongoing training collaboration between LSU NCBRT/ACE and federal partners to secure and prepare the nation’s Historically Black Colleges and Universities.
The Metropolitan Museum of Art to Host Training to Increase Awareness and Prepare for Potential Active Threats
The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, NY is hosting an emergency response training course on December 20, 2023. This course, Surviving an Active Threat: Run. Hide. Fight. (PER-375), addresses the Run. Hide. Fight. response paradigm and guides non-traditional first responders in the various ways these methods can be employed.
LSU NCBRT/ACE Launches New Course on De-Escalation Techniques and Professional Policing
LSU NCBRT/ACE has recently launched a new course, PER-405: De-Escalation Strategies and Professional Policing, that provides officers with the best strategies to safely avoid escalating encounters between police and the public.
NDPC Reflects on Past Accomplishments and Looks Toward the Future
Over the past three years, the National Domestic Preparedness Consortium has strived to deliver flexible and timely training. The NDPC is a seven-member partnership of nationally recognized organizations that enhances the preparedness of federal, state, local, territorial and tribal emergency responders; develops, delivers, and assesses response plans; and provides training, technical assistance, and exercises.
